Our stay at Taboo Resort was truly memorable, with a beautiful setting and exceptional service. The rooms were modern and spacious, making it a comfortable retreat. The dining experience at The Boat House Restaurant, however, left room for improvement, as the quality didn't quite match the price. Overall, it's a fantastic family-friendly spot with plenty of activities for everyone, but some details could enhance the experience.

Dining at The Boat House Restaurant was mixed; while the atmosphere was nice, the quality didn’t justify the higher prices.

7.6/10

My stay at the resort was mostly enjoyable with spacious, well-appointed rooms and amazing views. The staff was incredibly accommodating and professional. However, the dining options left a bit to be desired, and there were some quirks with the room and facilities that detracted from the experience. Overall, I would say it’s a nice spot, but a few improvements could elevate it further.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were spacious, modern, and very comfortable, with a great view from the balcony. However, I did notice some issues with noise from the rooms above and minor cleanliness concerns like bird droppings on the balcony railing.
Service
9.0
The customer service was fantastic, especially the front desk staff who were professional and genuinely eager to help. They made my wife feel special, especially during her recovery from an injury.
Location
8.0
The location of the resort is beautiful, with breathtaking views and access to recreational activities. However, there seemed to be some construction happening nearby that detracted from the overall ambiance.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was a bit hit or miss. While the views from the restaurants were stunning, the food at times felt overpriced for what was offered, and the breakfast lacked variety.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were generally good, but there were some issues like the limited seating around the pool and the odd charge for using poolside gazebos, which felt unnecessary.

7.2/10

I had a mostly wonderful stay at this resort, where the stunning views and modern, spacious room made for a pleasant experience. The friendly front desk staff and the nature trails added to the charm. However, the experience was marred by a few issues: the pillows were uncomfortable, certain paths needed better maintenance, and some facilities like the dock access were not up to par.

Rooms
9.0
The room was modern, spacious, and very well furnished, with large windows offering a stunning view of the lake. The spacious bathroom featured a glass shower and a soaker tub, and the bed was incredibly comfy.
Service
7.0
The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating, but there were a couple of instances where the service fell short, particularly with one rude interaction regarding dock accessibility.
Location
8.0
The location was close to both Bracebridge and Gravenhurst, which made it convenient for dining and activities. The beautiful views of the lake were a highlight.
Dining
5.0
While I enjoyed the coffee at the resort, the limited menu and higher prices at the Boathouse restaurant were disappointing.
Facilities
6.0
The grounds were nice and well-maintained, but the paths leading to the dock were uneven and not safely maintained, which detracted from the overall experience.

This resort offers stunning views of Muskoka Lake, and the facilities are fun for families, with decent recreation options like canoe rentals. The rooms are clean but basic, and the dining experience left a bit to be desired, especially the breakfast options. Overall, while it has a lot of potential, there are several areas that could use improvement to truly elevate the experience.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were clean and spacious enough for our family of five, with comfortable beds, but the noise from the room above was noticeable.
Service
8.0
The staff were helpful and attentive, especially when my daughter needed assistance due to her injury, which was a nice touch.
Location
9.0
The location is fantastic, right by the lake with beautiful views and a nice beach area, great for kids.
Dining
5.0
The dining at The Boathouse was hit or miss; while lunch was enjoyable, breakfast was very disappointing and overpriced with a limited selection.
Facilities
6.0
The recreation facilities like canoe rentals were good fun, but the pool area could definitely use more seating options.

I had high expectations for this resort, especially with the beautiful pictures showcasing a luxurious stay. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the overall upkeep of the grounds and the lack of amenities. While the room had a lovely view of the lake, the dining experience fell short with inconsistent quality and limited options. The service was a mix; some staff were fantastic, while others seemed overwhelmed. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re seeking a true resort experience.

Rooms
7.0
The room was the only highlight of my stay, offering a beautiful view of the lake. However, it lacked proper amenities like quality bathroom products.
Service
6.0
Service varied; some staff were great, particularly in the restaurant, but I encountered a rude front desk lady that left a negative impression.
Location
8.0
The location by the lake was lovely and relaxing, but the maintenance of the surrounding area was disappointing.
Dining
5.0
Dining was rather lackluster, with overpriced buffets and a limited menu that didn’t meet expectations for a resort.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were below par; the grounds were unkempt with weeds, and there were no additional amenities to enhance the stay.
